Our Story
We built this company around one simple idea: the hardest terrain deserves the right equipment — and the right people.
How We Started
SlopesEdge started with a straightforward observation: across the Virginia Highlands and Carolina Piedmont, landowners were being turned away from land clearing jobs because the terrain was too steep, too dense, or too risky for conventional equipment.
Those jobs weren't impossible. They just needed the right machine. We invested in the FAE RCU 55 — one of the most capable remote-controlled tracked mulchers available — specifically to serve that underserved part of the market.
Today, SlopesEdge operates across an 8-county region, tackling the hillside jobs, the brushy embankments, the steep development parcels, and the overgrown properties that have sat untouched for years. We take pride in showing up prepared, working efficiently, and leaving your land better than we found it.
What We Stand For
We'll tell you upfront what your job requires, what the result will look like, and what it will cost. No surprises at the end.
We don't try to fit every job to the equipment we happen to own. We invest in the right machinery for the terrain we work in.
Mulch stays on-site. We work carefully to minimize impact on surrounding areas. Your land should be better — not just cleared — when we leave.
Our Equipment
Our primary machine is the FAE RCU 55 — a fully remote-controlled tracked forestry mulcher engineered for extreme terrain. It's the reason we can take on jobs our competitors can't.
Remote operation means our crew is never on a dangerous slope while the machine works. The tracked undercarriage is engineered for stability on extreme grades.
| Max Slope | Up to 55° |
| Operation | Fully remote-controlled |
| Max Tree Diameter | 6"–8" inches |
| Mulch | Ground in place on-site |
| Haul-away Required | None |
Our Approach
We've found that the best outcomes happen when we understand what you're actually trying to accomplish — not just what you want cleared. Are you prepping for construction? Trying to improve your view? Reclaiming pasture? Each goal changes the right approach.
That's why every job starts with a site visit and a conversation, not just a quote. Here's what that looks like in practice:
We walk the property before we quote it. Terrain, access, and obstacles all affect scope and price — and we'd rather know upfront than surprise you later.
We'll explain why we're recommending a particular approach — and what tradeoffs exist if you want to do it differently.
We leave your property clean, with mulch in place and no debris to haul. You shouldn't have to deal with anything after we leave.
